Vulnerability in Blogging

Hi Loves!

I want to share a few thoughts after spending some time blogging and creating content.

1 | Sharing and creating is scary sometimes, but every day I'm waking up thankful that I took the plunge and started "what the Elle is she up to?". I've been spending some time away from my art and really considering the "why" behind why I sing and how to bring my brand full circle to include those aspects. For a long time, I've been looking to someone else for affirmation in my art and that has overflowed into my life. I'm grateful for the lessons I've learned and am continuing to learn on this journey. The freedom I've experienced when letting go of the need to please someone else, and learning to create for myself, is the inspiration for this blog and I hope inspires others to lean into the things that bring you joy.

2 | Perfection and Beauty are not parallel lines. It's the imperfections that make me different and unique and those are the best things I have to offer to the world. Imperfections do not make you any less and I would argue make you even more. Knowing the quirks, the differences, and the blemishes gives way to freedom and provides confidence in the person you are and are becoming, and no one can make you feel less proud of that.

3 | There will always be people who judge. My boyfriend said it best "The ones who judge you are the ones who are too scared to put themselves out there in the first place." AND THAT IS SO TRUE! I'd never considered it this way before but the reality is if I'm the person judging someone else's work and consuming my thoughts with negativity towards their art I am only creating less room to have productivity of my own. Keeping the mind clear of negativity towards other's behavior only creates more room to expand and create for yourself.

4 | I really love to sing. I really, REALLY love to sing. Not for someone else's satisfaction, though it is always nice to hear lovely feedback, but I am singing for myself and living in that space. So many more videos to come. Feel free to comment with any requests. (:

You cannot look up at the night sky on Planet Earth and not wonder what it’s like to be up there amongst the stars. And I always look up at the moon and see it as the most romantic place within the cosmos.

5 | Creating for myself is freeing and gives me purpose to keep creating. And creating is important and causes change. There are so many stories to be told and sometimes when verbalizing them isn't an option, a pen and paper (or macbook) just might hold the answer. So I will continue writing, continue being vulnerable, and continue sharing the stories of my life with a whole lot of love.

6 | The blogging community is beautiful and filled with some incredible, inspiring people. I think a common goal behind being a blogger is to help someone else or give tools to help, and this creates a community of love that is constantly ready to share. I've reconnected with so many friends that I'd lost touch with over the years and that support system and encouragement has meant more than I can put into words. I'm so grateful for my friends near and far who have uplifted me in this space. You are loved deeply and your friendship is cherished.

Keep creating, keep putting yourself out there, and keep digging deeper into the things you love. This is what I'm learning and I'm so grateful for all of the love and support that's followed my journey....Just some thoughts.

Much Love,
